2025 Canonisation of Bartolo Longo
On Sunday 19 October, members of the Order attended the Canonisation Mass at St Peter’s Square, entering the Vatican in the early morning alongside Knights and Dames from many countries. They were seated on a terrace overlooking the altar area in front of St Peter’s Basilica, joining approximately 500 members of the Order and tens of thousands of pilgrims gathered for this historic occasion.
Representatives from lieutenancies including Hungary, Scotland, and Australia shared in the experience, reflecting the truly international nature of the celebration. The Rite of Canonisation was followed by Holy Mass, attended by an estimated 70,000 faithful, with clergy from around the world concelebrating.
Particular joy was expressed by those gathered for Bartolo Longo, whose canonisation was warmly received by members of the Order present.
Participating in this sacred liturgy at the Vatican was a profound and deeply spiritual experience. Sharing the occasion with fellow Knights and Dames from across the globe made the day especially meaningful, leaving lasting memories of faith, unity, and gratitude.
