Spirituality of the Equestrian Order
The spirituality of the Order flows from its unique connection to the Holy Sepulchre, the tomb of the Risen Christ in Jerusalem. At the heart of the Order's spiritual life is the call to personal holiness, expressed through prayer, pilgrimage, and active charity in support of the living Christian communities of the Holy Land.
Members are called to live the spirituality of the Order in four ways. Through personal prayer and the deepening of their interior life. Through participation in the liturgical life of the Order, especially the annual Vigil and Investiture. Through pilgrimage to the Holy Land, which the Constitution describes as an obligation for all members at least once in their lives. And through generous and active support for the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem and the Christian communities it serves.
The Order venerates Our Lady of Palestine as its patroness and celebrates feast days each year.
